Metal Injection
Sure, they don’t really step out of their comfort zone or challenge themselves (or listeners) with radical new directions, but they don’t need to. Instead, they play into their strengths and most adored characteristics to satisfy as much as possible. In other words, Liquid Tension Experiment has a very specific gimmick, and as always, they do it better than just about anyone else here.

It has been 22 years since we last got new music from LTE, apart from a few reunion shows in 2008 it's been silent for all those years. And in a stunning turn of events as the needle hits the groove we are instantly transported back into this monolithic prog funk metal world with these four wizards serving up the most delicious grooves and riffs and solos like the 90s never left.

The boys are back with a new instrumental odyssey. Honestly, you know what you're getting out of this if you're familiar with the group's and their members' past works. Thankfully, their age hasn't shown as much on here as I thought it would. Every member still has impressive chops, the songwriting skills are still strong, and, most surprisingly, the melodies on this jump out of corny territory into somewhat gripping passages. Technically impressive, spiritually and emotionally bland aside from a couple of Petrucci's Solo.
Ejercicio nostálgico. No parece que haya pasado el tiempo para estos muchachos y lo digo tanto para bien como para mal. Lo que parece que va a terminar siendo un embole al tercer tema del disco por suerte termina acomodándose y la segunda mitad le sube un poco el puntaje porque es realmente entretenida.
