Gatecreeper take a risk with "An Unexpected Reality" and it works perfectly. The first seven song are incredibly short, however they sort of coalesce to become one pummeling fist of bad-ass death metal riffs and crushing vocals. Think of the first seven songs as a combination of punches before the final uppercut to the chin, which is the unbelievably epic and ferocious closing track, "Emptiness". “AHHHHHHHH” that’s how all the 1 minute songs sound and then the last song is good, bit slow at points but honestly better than the partial mess beforehand.

Ok, is this an LP or an EP? The info posters need to make up their minds. Anyway, this was decent. Solid riffs, good pacing, and the vocals were done pretty well. However, the production was quite bad at times, so some of the songs with the more impressive songwriting went a little bit to the wayside.
