A short and sweet indie album for a summer’s day in Singapore.
You ever have a release when you keep upping and upping the score as the album progresses. Starts off around 75 and finishes 85, may even end up higher later in the year after repeated listens. But I love this album on first run through! Another one that I picked up off Bandcamp. Heard the single Fruitcake and thought I's give the album a listen. So melodic. Great album. Fun, catchy, and unique.
Singapore five-piece Subsonic Eye dropped their third album, 'Nature of Things', at the start of the year, but frankly, I'm glad I didn't listen to it back then; this is a Summer album through and through if ever I've heard one. 2021 feels like it's been something of a quiet year for indie rock, but Subsonic Eye have filled that void with their fuzzy, dreamy, emo-tinged sound that doesn't push any boundaries, but can easily provide the soundtrack to your holidays.
