Wow. Wheel have done it again. I did not think that they were gonna pull off such awesome musicianship for their second album, but I am impressed. These guys clearly put in a lot of work to make this album as good as it is and it's awesome. If you like prog metal and need something new, this is absolutely worth the time. I think the main issue with progressive metal records like these is the length of some of the tracks. While there can be a lot of variation and changes throughout a single song, it can also make a track really boring and repetitive, but that doesn't seem to be a problem on Resident Human, a project that balances out melodic and soft element with heavy riffs and percussion. It's not nothing that I haven't heard before, but it's pretty decent.
Very nice sounding prog album. The bass throughout this whole thing was amazing, and I thought the 10+ minute songs were all justified in length. They were structured well and felt satisfying by the end. I liked every track and I can't wait to listen to it some more.
