While she was finding her feet during her mixtape era, they’re firmly planted on the ground this time. A genuine no-skip affair, it’ll be trouble in paradise for the other pop girls next.

On Troubled Paradise, Slayyyter strips the cynicism from hyperpop, invokes the best parts of the last generation of pop powerhouses, and fills the void in culture left by the last time Katy Perry went #1.

The proudly campy hyperpop singer’s debut is vibrant and ridiculous, for better or worse.

Bursting into the scene almost instantaneously, Slayyyter hit it big by taking a modern approach to Y2K pop music, specifically the writing style and vocal delivery of Britney Spears. However, as more tracks were released up to her EP, people began questioning whether there was more to Slayyyter or was she just “Britney Spears with modern production” and doomed to live in her shadow (to be fair it didn’t help that she followed her mixtape with a remix of “Gimme ... read more

Slayyyter returns with a one-of-a-kind debut album!

Catherine moves away from her usual Britney Spears/Paris Hilton inspired sound (thank god) and gracefully shifts into her own.

She excels at her lighter pop tracks such as "Clouds" or "Letters", however Catherine does not discriminate as she lets her inner demon shine on tracks like "Self Destruct" and "Venom".

Reproduzindo batidas e sons característicos do hyperpop, Slayyyter pouco consegue desenvolver algo unicamente próprio em Troubled Paradise.

Campy and sincere hyperpop/electropop album with a performance that demands attention. Unfortunately during the duration of this album—I wanted to listen to Charli XCX—who essentially does a similar thing but better. I still quite liked this—but no hooks stuck. Decent.

Really enjoyable piece of music. It's funny, well produced and sung. "Starfucker" is better in my opinion, so I'm glad to see Slayyyter evolved as an artist. However, it's nice, don't sleep on this!
