Like its predecessor, ‘Money Can’t Buy Happiness’ is a concise affair. The select feature list and continued neat control suggest Fredo’s not just a good rapper but a good editor, whittling down songs until only the finest remain.

2020 saw Fredo gain a lot more popular appeal across the UK, due mostly to the smash hit Funky Friday. I really didn't enjoy this pop rap direction but I was very thankful to hear something very different on this record. There is a real melancholy vibe here, despite some radio friendly tunes and features.

Fredo is an artist I never really got into, untill now.

'Money Can't Buy Happiness' is surprisingly introspective, in such a way I never expected from an artist like Fredo. The usual subject matter (struggle, dealing,...) is talked about in a way more personal and detailed manner. The beats -however simple- fit his delivery and message needlessly and make this LP into the tight and focussed project it really is.
