We live in this world although vast, it’s not something we explore nearly enough. In the alps of Mount Everest, you look down on an open lush world upon you. But not even the heights of some of the largest peaks of this world can really show you how much of the world is unexplored. A peak lies every step of the way, behind that peak lies another, and another. You never reach the apex, as you die before you get to it. YouTube artist, Quadeca, has been climbing this hypothetical mountain ... read more

Corny. Bloated. Faux-experimental. Boring. Oversentimental. Overblown. Overrated. The 7 key words that describes the latest album from rapper, singer, producer and youtuber Quadeca entitled 'From Me To You'. I've never watched that many videos from Quadeca or heard much of his music but what I have heard has never really impressed me, he just seemed like another YouTube rapper to me but what made him stand out a little bit from his contemporaries was the fact that he latched onto an Emo Rap ... read more

Huh, maybe y’all YouTube rappers ain’t too bad after all.

Benjamin Lasky, also known as Quadeca, is an American rapper and YouTuber. With nearly 2 million subscribers racked up, Lasky stopped uploading consistently to focus on music, taking a break from uploading to his main channel for five months before announcing his long-awaited 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘠𝘰𝘶, originally slated to be released on March 18th and later delayed by a couple of weeks.

7.9 - Really Good

It’s crazy that even though I just listened to one of the most wild albums I’ve heard, Neō Wax Bloom, this still managed so surprise me.

Quadeca was an artist that I’ve always known “existed,” and not much else. I hadn’t heard the greatest things about his work in the past, and he didn’t really standout to me as anyone who would make an “interesting” release. However, my expectations were subverted with Sisyphus, a track ... read more

Progressive Hip-Hop is here, and Quadeca is the unlikely spearhead for it.

While he has moments of corniness in his writing and delivery style, and not every risk pans out on this record, you'll be hard pressed to find a better produced album this year, with the entire project sounding lush, extravagant and absolutely massive, while also being very glitchy and experimental throughout, which really adds a lot to the beats on here. The flow is near impeccable, as even my least favourite songs on ... read more

I think I’ve made it clear in the past that I don’t get much besides a migraine out of most people in the YouTube rap scene, and judging from what I’ve heard of this artist’s previous work I probably would have lumped him in with the rest of them, thinking he’s corny and artistically shallow. However, after giving his latest record, “FROM ME TO YOU” a listen, Quadeca not only proved that he’s a very different artist than his peers, but he’s ... read more

Hi, i'm back. For good, this time.

Similar to the concept and storyline of Quadeca's 5th album (5TH!! when the fuck did he make 3 others), Hip Hop itself is climbing a mountain of expansion. Like a tree, the genre spun more and more branches along the years and i can boldly say that it's the most accessible genre at the moment. You have pop rap, trap rap, emo rap, industrial rap, experimental, alternative, metal and God-knows how many other sub-genres, but today, or, last Friday, another one ... read more

I was skeptical of the positive reviews this was getting, and while I definitely don’t think this is a masterpiece, it’s actually pretty well executed and an extreme improvement over the other music I’ve heard from him.

While I’ve never been a Quadeca fan, I’ve thought he had talent and the potential to drop some solid music. But while I saw potential, I wasn’t expecting THIS. I didn’t even know who Quadeca was until my friend recommended his music to ... read more

Well, at least this is probably a peak of the emo-rap genre, I can't imagine you could do something more with it, and therefore "From Me to You" is one of, if not the most creative and ambitious projects I've heard in this style.

The amount of honestly impressive stuff going on in the background is huge. Hundreds of different sounds, instruments, and electronic glitches, noises, and other spices. Every track introduces something sonically ... read more

from me to you is a good album. i know a lot of people have been very excited for this album, but i hadn’t listened to quadeca before this album. and i was very pleasantly surprised. apparently quadeca’s earlier work was a lot more generic. so i guess i didn’t miss much. i think the album is a bit too long for its own good and could benefit from a few tracks being cut. either way, there are plenty of great songs on this album even if there are too many tracks.

Quadeca is this years unlikely hero. If you had told me after his last album, that two years later, this guy would be releasing one of the best and most complete pop rap records of the last 5 years I would have. called you crazy!

The sheer quality of this record was honestly just completely unprecedented to me with respect to the rest of Quadeca’s discography.

But then Sisyphus dropped..

Much in the vein of fellow Youtuber/Rapper Aries, that track had this summery pop energy and ... read more

I’m not gonna start this review with “Wow I didn’t expect Quadeca to make this good of a——“ BECAUSE I’VE ALWAYS HAD THIS MUCH FAITH IN HIM.

Quadeca is a youtuber I’ve been watching for probably 5 to 6 years now. Part of me feels like I grew up with him. When he dropped Voice Memos, I was pretty underwhelmed but I still felt like there was so much potential in him to do something greater & From me to you did just that.......

Of course, for it's many flaws, From Me To You is clearly far from perfect, but it's the odd poignant, melodramatic, unpredictable and progressive nature of this project that gives it and edge over most stuff released this year. Of course the tacky lyricism and vocals that reminisce anything from hyperpop heavyweights to artists like Brackence, Eden, Joji and Frank Ocean may not be everyone's cup of tea, but save for a major sonical offender in the form "Smiling At The Ground", ... read more

From Me To You is a beautiful insanity. Grabbing so many elements of Hip hop, r&b, hyperpop, Industrial rock, glitch hop... I could go on forever on how many genres this albums fuses. It's almost a mix of "Nectar" and "Igor" but with a very glitchy and intense flair to it. For the most part the more melodic tracks are very powerful and intense and the more aggressive cuts are absolutely wild. There are a few missed here and there ESPECIALLY the track "Where'd you ... read more

I am truly sorry for underestimating you Quadeca, cause holy shit. My friend @JeremiahMurphy has been telling me for OVER A YEAR NOW that this man was going places. I would always make fun of him for it because at the time Quadeca's best song was his KSI diss track. I apologize for making fun of you for that Jer, because this album is spectacular.

This album is just incredibly textured from front to back. Blending genres like this is the last thing I would have expected from Quadeca a year ... read more

This album is honestly so close to being great. The production is absolutely beautiful, and Quadeca’s vocals and lyricism really combine to make the mood of the album stand out to the extreme. The only fault is, it’s probably a bit too long. There’s a couple tracks which are, in my eyes, complete throwaways, and sound more like his older work where he would say nothing interesting or meaningful for 3 minutes.
That being said, this album is still good, maybe even very good, ... read more

This record is getting way too much props. I appreciated what Quadeca is doing with this record, many tracks are interesting and the instrumentals are often very good, but what I see in this user reviews section is exaggerated. What I see is a good starting point from a young talented artist, but surely not the best thing I've listened in this year.

I can respect that he went for this but this really didn't connect with me at all.

The production has some cool moments and I can tell he put a lot of time into them, but it fell flat for me on quite a few songs. A lot of the tracks seem to lead up to these peaks in the production that usually transition into a melodramatic outro, but these peaks sounded so messy and were pretty hard to listen to. While I have never been a big fan of his rapping in the past, I found myself having the same ... read more

Oh boy. The hype that 'Sisyphus' alone has built for this record in the week that its been out.... let's get into it.

And even if this isn't the best album I have heard this year... it is the best PRODUCED record I have heard this year.

**DISCLAIMER I AM NOT A QUADECA DIEHARD, I AM NEW TO ALL THIS**

I'm sorry but anyone who hating on Sisyphus is just being disrespectful as fuck to its production, writing, and performances. It really is one of those *big* singles that make or break your fame ... read more

Hugely impressive in comparison to Voice Memos, the production on this is fantastic and shows a great direction he is heading on.

If we are going to bundle him up with YouTubers, probably the best YouTuber album to come out, even exceeding Joji imo.
