Very dope record, the return to 'Don Fabio' quality style after a few weaker collabs from the duo. Giallo Point once again delivers the cinematic strings with the mafioso sound and SmooVth really gets back on track lyrically, having dropped several pretty weak efforts since 2018, aside from the Connect tape w Hus. This is notably some of the best sampled boom bap of the year.
Hempstead's SmooVth teamed up again with British producer Giallo Point for Amongst Wolves, their fifth album together. Amongst Wolves is one of the strongest of the five. Giallo Point rarely misses, and he doesn’t miss here. The cinematic instrumentals on Amongst Wolves are deliciously dark, perfect for SmooVth’s lyrical content.
