the instrumental work is remarkable. the guitar sounds sticky and permeates through the music. meanwhile, the synths are calming, and they bestow some electronic aspects to the music.

there’s a comforting dreaminess present throughout ‘head of roses‘.

the album is a trip comprised of many different vibes:

“price of blue” conveys an indie-country combination. the solos are searing.

“and we're all just wearing bodies
like a costume 'til we die” is ... read more

These days it's so important to know the importance of being calm and some of us might have already forgotten how to do that. With that being said, I was listening to this album and halfway through, I heard some commotion outside, turns out there was a house burning right across where I live. Thank goodness firefighters rushed right away to control the fire. Two hours later, I continued listening to the album and it was such a moment of realization because this album made me remember how it is ... read more

this is peak Jenn. all the grace and beauty is here, with those magnificent heart-felt vocals. she pours herself unreservedly into every note of every song. the end result is a record on a par with Angel Olsen's All Mirrors and Titanic Rising by Weyes Blood. she is such an enormous talent and I hope fervently that this finally is the work that will propel her to the proper level of respect.

A Beautiful Record that talks on themes of self reflection, grief, the need to love someone conflicting with the need of being by yourself, all executed with an experimental indie folk vibe and ethereal pop that remind me of Cocteau twins, and her videos are really aesthetic goes with the title of the album An album that will grow an unfold more with every listen

Holy fuck. This album is absolutely gorgeous!! Jenn is such a beautiful songwriter, so the shimmering production accompanied by her comforting vocals come together to create an unforgettable experience. Give it a listen! You won't regret it!

i wanted to give this at least an 80, especially considering the first two tracks are mesmerizing, but unfortunately the main strengths shown on those tracks do not carry over to the rest of the record... the last two songs are still somewhat worthy tho
