This is not what I expected at all. The beat is surprisingly pretty smooth and both Freddie and Q flow well over it. It's not necessarily his best song or anything, but still really solid.
Freddie Gibbs is one of the best current rappers out there and for me that's not even up for debate. There aren't a lot of better examples of stylistic mastery than Freddie Gibbs and he's proven it time and time again. With that being said, he definitely stays consistent here, and while it's far from what was expected, this is still a really great track. While Freddie's singing is usually hit or miss for me, I like what he did with the chorus here, and the smooth, jazzy instrumental with those horns is just lovely, both Q and Freddie deliver smooth, but lyrically dark verses. It's a good vibe more than anything, but I'm here for it.
Edit: Wow, this track has really grown on me since the review, while it's obviously not one of Freddie's best singles, it's just a very infectious, fun and replayable little track with an insanely catchy melodic ... read more
This track screams for a Paak chorus come on man...
This was honestly pretty meh, nothing here was all that good, the beat was really average, and the rapping wasn't all that different.
