Not among Walker's most memorable, but certainly a fun album to listen to once or twice.
I guess I'm not hearing what the critics are, I think Deafman Glance and Primrose Green outshine this one significantly.
I miss Primrose Green era Ryley Walker
Continues charting the denser proggier lands he started exploring on Deafman Glance but seems to cover a lot less ground. That album felt like an adventure into the unknown, whereas this one mostly stays in one place. Nice vibes, but not very memorable.
Songwriter ideas of Riley Waler are always interesting. It is also the case with this album, although it seems there is less arrangement twists and the whole album as a concept does not take much of my attention.

Ryley Walker - Course In Fable
Progressive Folk
April 2, 2021
I feel something is missing or maybe I can say that his vocals performances are mid as I liked the instrumental moments much more besides, the production is underwhelming. despite that, I liked the rhymes. Also the pointless sophisticated words got me down.
