Geister is ambitious in the fact that it steps away from such a firm platform and paves another direction, albeit more successful and markedly accessible. Paysage d’Hiver reinvents itself again.
While it may not be the daunting behemoth of Atmospheric Black Metal that 'Im Wald' was, 'Geister' acts as a pretty good follow up to that record with a much more concise runtime and a different sonic approach. I haven't felt like writing reviews lately, and I gotta do what I feel or all I do is put out bad vibes. BUT I feel like I had to say a lil something about this.
I mean... it's not BAD. I don't think Pd'H can make BAD music, but after Im Wald, this feels dramatically more empty. And in that context, I think it is his weakest effort yet.
