I chose this one to start Dream Theater because I thought the cover was cool asf. I ended up leaving bored after a split listen. The first few songs are alright, but it starts to drag. The energy feels artificial.


Dream Theater: Part 4

Just okay I guess. I mean it's alright. This is the only album to feature Derek Sherinian on keys and his playing is like Rudess and Moore mixed together, which is not a bad thing. My main complaint is that every song kinda sounds very samey sounding. This album just feels soulless to me. I think it's actually a great album, but not for me.
Highlights: Peruvian Skies, Lines in the Sand.
