Slam Dunk Contest (feat. Pharoahe Monch) Produced by Nottz is dope, probably the best I've heard from either in over a year. There were great moments produced by Quelle Chris and DJ Preservation, Fahim's own production even, but the impressive content is few and far between. Neither emcee had a project that really impressed me in 2020, I feel like they've both been falling off a bit.
Droog and Fahim are suffering from oversaturation, flooding the market, everything they've been putting out is of rushed and low quality. just forgettable for the most part. slam dunk contest & WNBA are the only tracks that's worth returning to
This album is very very solid, nothing amazing but solid. Your Old Droog in my opinion is one of the best writers in the New York scene, he somehows is able to stay true to the 90s basketball theme while weaving in own personality and experiences with tight metaphors and similes. Fahim as always is kind of just doing is own thing off to the side saying kind of random shit but still coming with the classic zany personality. Enjoyed Tha Wolf on Wall St. a bit more but this is great too. WNBA and 90 From The Line Remix are amazing.
