This is the self-titled debut album from American band Silver Apples, released in June 1968 on Kapp. It peaked at #193 on the US Billboard 200, making it the band's most successful album during their career.

Their music has also been influential to several artists like Portishead, Stereolab, Beck, Spritualized, Moby & Beastie Boys.

I'm just like fucking autistic because holy shit this is the music I love so much - I heard a song on their second record which was batshit insane, I couldn't believe it came out in 1969 - and everything on this debut lives up to the hype. I really love this early experimentation in electronic music so much more than current electronic music. The most obvious comparison is probably Suicide? But this definitely clears Suicide.
