His pop skills serve him well on his debut, offering opportunities to show off the unique tone and delivery he has compared to his peers.

Whichever mode he's in, 24kGoldn never sacrifices hooks, and expert production helps every song land.

Rolling Stone

El Dorado is pop engineered to sound good in the supermarket, social-media snippets, and played from a phone during bedroom hangs: big melodies in the foreground, beats that bounce, and guitar deployed as needed to juice up the tunes.

'El Dorado', 24kGoldn's debut album seems to have surprisingly pleased plenty of people, but it's personally painfully mediocre at best. 24kGoldn provides a style that no one in the industry seems to be able to mimic, other than maybe Iann Dior, being perfect for the radio as he has the talent to rap and sing over dreamy, pop punk influenced beats in a tremendous way, being the way he blew up to mainstream level. I haven't ever been a big 24kGoldn fan until mid 2020, which was when I started to ... read more
XXL freshman, 24kgoldn, has released his debut album after blowing up massively over the past year or 2 from numerous hit singles such as mood and Valentino. While I never have really been a fan of a lot of his work as for the most part I find a lot of his hits in particular to be very overrated, I did have a tiny bit of hope that this would be pretty decent as I liked the final single he released for this album 3, 2, 1. It was very simplistic but that's not a bad thing necessarily. It was a ... read more
El Dorado may not be what I hoped it could be, but even as is, it’s a very solid melodic trap album that shows a lot of potential.

I’m a sucker for some good catchy and poppy melodic trap cuts, and the last few singles 24KGOLDN released were pretty quality tracks in this lane. The most popular, and the best of the three, was “Mood” featuring Iann Dior, which was one of the catchiest songs of last year. But I also really enjoyed “Coco” featuring DaBaby and ... read more
"Don’t Sleep" pleasantly surprised me. It’s pretty fucking good. Got that thing on repeat. I'd be a sucker for a Post Malone feature on that one though, that'd be next level.
