This is probably my favorite crop of songs from SMtB yet. Not only does this have some of their most crushing production, but their greatest compositions as well. This EP is fun as hell and is easily one of my favorite releases of the year thus far. If this the direction the band is going in, they're on track to put out their best album yet.
What a hard hitting & fun batch of songs. This EP is like candy, I feel like the more I keep digesting it I'm going to get addicted. This is the first thing I have heard from the band, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them because this shit is GREAT!
Best Tracks: Rubberband, People On TV, Survive*
Worst Track: N/A
To put it simply, my only complaint when it comes to Show Me The Body's new EP, "Survive" is the unfortunate brevity!
"Survive" consists of three pummelling hardcore punk bangers which come together to make one cohesive politically-charged statement! The New Yorkers have been continuously impressing me with every project they've released from their incredibly ambitious debut, "Body War" to their collaborative mixtape in 2017 and finally their infectious sophomore ... read more
FAVORITE TRACK: People On TV
LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: None
Show Me The Body is a dope band. They're so dope that I found out about them from a girl I met in a mental hospital. Of course this EP is dope. It's fast and angry and loud. Not a bad thing about it.
Even if its super short, its SMTB's best collection of songs yet. The recording and production is so perfect. I cannot wait to see this pan out into a full length record
Big and heavy, 80 feels like the most I can give for an ep with so short runtime but damn those 3 tracks are on repeat for the next month
The banjo boys bring us a sample of some fire. Three songs, nine minutes of some heavy hardcore, "Survive" is sure to kick your face in.
Rubberband starts slow but muderous, then picks up the pace with circle pit patterns and spastic riffs. This song is definitely moshable, and I just love all the ugly feedback and how overdriven the bass is. People On TV is also fairly decent, although it's probably the least exciting of the three for me. I like that you can hear the banjo clearly ... read more
I'm not so sure about Rubberband (it's a bit slow to start), but the other two songs - the title track especially - are brutal and fucking excellent. Keen to hear what they bring to the table on their next LP.
It really is not about the length. It's about the performance and how hard it is. This? This was really really HARD.
Show Me The Body shock me with three punishing noise punk thrashers.
Now give me the full album.
I went into this with some decently high expectatiions as I enjoyed their last record a fair bit, but this one did not click for me. I even went back to see if I still enjoyed their previous work and yeah, so it's not like I merely did a 180 on them. The title track aside, this one just isn't cutting it.
Not a bad listen at all. I just have mixed feelings.
Really not convinced. Exceptional tone, but the song-craft is just *not* there.

Track-by-track ratings:

2. People On TV (7.4/10)
3. Survive (7.7/10)
Average: 7.7/10
10 minutes of ferocious energy split in three songs, Survive is a consice politically driven meltdown.
the singer could be yelling the words to a Dr. Seuss poem and it'd still go hard as shit
Show Me The Body deliver a rough and aggressive Noise Rock EP which although is short in length is a fairly enjoyable experience, every song hits well and this type of music is extremely addictive. Only at 3 tracks this is a perfect example of short and sweet.
BEST TRACKS- Rubberband, Survive
WORST TRACKS- People On TV
After listening to a couple of dull albums this will definitely blow the cobwebs off. ‘Survival’ is visceral and punchy no nonsense EP and I love the energy💥
