Kerrang!

What Body Void do here is to articulate the feeling of hopelessness and fury so present in modern life. Where once it was cool and sneering to sing of ‘No future’, announcing you were dropping out of the race, Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth is the perfect voice for a time when, really, nobody at all has much of a future. In context, this excellently twisted noise almost sounds reasonable.

Came across this LP on Bandcamp, gave it a try and left me totally addicted. It so massively heavy and sludgy, but OMG it is an absolute masterpiece. Apparently a therapeutic album much needed in 2021.

Doom metal's appeal is something that still alludes me. I only like 2-4 min of each song and it never feels worth the wait to get to those riffs. But the lyrics here are something special; it's very clear what each song is about while using clever metaphors to keep things from being overbearingly obvious. And it's all buoyed by Willow Ryan's pained yet powerful vocals. If doom metal is your thing this is an easy recommendation.
