The fruits of their labour are a tighter, shorter progression into more streamlined harmonies and near-perfect three-minute power-rock than their debut.
On Sweet Sour, Band Of Skulls show themselves to be well equipped to keep the garage blues/rock flame alive.
With this 10-track album, Band of Skulls essentially carry the flag of guitar, bass, and drum trios where other acts have grown fatigued and clichéd.
Sadly, you’d be better off in the maelstrom of one of their live shows than taking this album home.
This is not an awful album. Instead, its problem is that it is completely mediocre.
