Not many artists make as much out of their second chance as the sisters do, and hopefully their excellent album will find the audience it deserves.
showcasing their talents is something Aly & AJ have already done in prior releases. ever since “Ten Years,” “Sanctuary” and the collection of loose singles ahead, it shouldn’t come off as a surprise that their at-last LP record would hang on a synthpop-based production whenever it could. the cheerful sonic aspects are accompanied with great hooks and twists that rewinds in your head unremittingly, which made this project a remarkable one at first listen. ... read more
As expected, Aly & AJ released an amazing album, which can be safely called one of the best this year. "a touch..." is exactly what you need to listen to in spring, because it's breezy, light and airy.
I can appreciate how well this album is made, there are some great vocals and vibey moments throughout the album. The issue is that it's just so basic and generic, there are basically no unique ideas on here so it's hard for me to be captivated by most of the album. When there is the occasional great melody the song hits, but the production is just so so so bland on almost every song.
