Dork
Exploring life in classic Middle England and its five-bedroom homes and artificial lawns, it’s the exciting early sound of a band trying on different outfits to see what fits.

On their scrappy debut collection, Liverpool’s Courting are heavy-handed with their influences but endearing enough to get away with it.

Overall, Courting’s debut is exciting in rhythm, truthful in vocals and a sound that I am keen to hear more from. And, so are others!

Still Listening

Compared to their early singles, the production on Grand National is tighter, the songwriting is stronger, and the performances are more incendiary than ever.

HOLY FUCK, this is one of my favorite EP listens I’ve ever had. Thank you @T_Alamos (the goat) for recommending me this. Courting is a band I’m familiar with, I’ve heard both of their albums but I never decided to listen to this EP and I was missing the fuck OUTTTT. This is post punk greatness, may I even add, at its peak. This really reminded me what I love so much about this genre. The grooves are so unbelievably infectious, every song is a fucking ear worm ... read more

RANDOM ALBUM REVIEW #4

How have I not heard of these guys before??

Track by track:

Grand National: This song is fantastic. It's definitely the best song on this project and a sublime opener.

Popshop!: The shortest song on this album by quite a large margin, but also great. ... read more
