Thought BCNR had this year on lock, but a new AOTY might be incoming boys.

Took three listens but it’s Narrator quality too. Most anticipated album rn. Nonetheless, crack cloud still got overlooked last year.

Discovering these guys has brought me the same exilerating rush I experienced when I discovered Idles.

I always thought hip-hop was my favourite genre of music but I think that is more down to the quality of music that genre has experienced from genre pushing artists over the last 10 years or so (I only properly got "into" music since 2015 really). But when I hear "post-punk" or whatever genre you want to call this done so well like Squid have been doing and Idles have ... read more

This is insane.
Album’s already shaping up to be a masterpiece.

E se ... read more

I like to imagine an actual squid singing and playing all the instruments when I listen. The Joy Division comparisons are accurate, but squid gives the track a big helping of their oddball post-punk sound. I'm so excited for the album

I've been trying to see if I'm just missing something out of this single because people have been seeming to enjoy this just as much as Narrator, but after numerous listens I still find this track rather underwhelming. I feel with the album's context it would improve the track because when it ends it just feels like a very solid cliffhanger (which can be a good and bad thing, but unfortunately for this track it definitely leans on the bad thing end more heavily). In comparison to Squid's ... read more

Edit: Changing score to 90. It was 80.

After the second single, Squid has not lost my attention at all. I'm still super pumped for this album. These guys are so innovative.

After "Houseplants", wasn't sure how Squid could outdo themselves.
