It’s one of those rare records that not only helps you understand life more by capturing all its highs and lows, but also makes it better. Stunning stuff.
Despite the record’s hefty concerns and classic “harder, better, faster, stronger” second-LP upgrades, Fiddlehead’s defining quality is their modesty.
between the richness is an aggressive and energetic emo album. while the vocals may be grating to some, i feel like they really add to the emotion of this album. this album is just insanely exciting. its always packed with energy. the lead guitarist of this band is also in basement, who are one of my favorite bands. this is definitely very reminiscent of basement but you can hear influences from many different bands such as the brave little abacus, title fight, citizen, and more.

Damn this a nice burst of energy, a shot to the arm after some disappointing releases from Cloud Nothings and other upbeat emo/rock bands.

All in all though not a disappointing year for emo adjacent energetic punk-rock so far at all and this will go nicely with the new Teenage Wrist/Glitterer/Du Blonde & Parannoul.

Now just hoping for a decent AFI album 🤞

Might check out the new Origami Angel album now 😎

The guitars on it are a very traditional emo hard rock that pairs well with emotional and roaring vocals. Tracks like The Years, Million Times, Down University and Joyboy combine a lot of strong guitar ... read more

There weren't as many tracks that immediately grabbed me in the same way that "Springtime and Blind" did, but this is by no means a sophomore slump. Fiddlehead's biggest strength is their ability to appeal to fans of 90s emo, punk, and even the hardcore heads who've followed these guys through all their previous projects. For anyone looking for a band with a lot of feeling but can still kick you in the pants, you could do way worse.
