No Ripcord
It’s the ultimate sample platter for a band who defiantly refuses to meet your expectations, and for everything it lacks in consistency, it more than makes up for in offering a heart-bled moment that will burn bright for someone.

Beats Per Minute

The band is on fire for the entirety of the short-and-savage Perfect, balancing that joyous pop-punk that made Patience such a jam but still proving they can shred when necessary.

The Line of Best Fit
Though the EP doesn’t quite feel like bold new territory for the band, it does find them equally blunt and blistering.

Clash
The ‘Perfect’ EP is another jukebox roll through the band’s quieter and louder moments, both of which are largely on target from start to finish.

Northern Transmissions
The EP only clocks in at just over 13 minutes but the group milks every ounce of blood and tears shed over the last year into every single second of its running time.

FLOOD Magazine
There’s the familiar Mannequin Pussy and then there’s a new side that glows; you can’t quite see it until it’s right in front of you, but you’re intrigued by it anyways.

Upset
The EP arrives on the scene with all guns blazing and a playful, scornful attitude, planting both feet in front of you; it’s not going anywhere.

Pitchfork
After a year of unplanned hibernation, Mannequin Pussy have emerged less precious about their roots and eager to grow new branches.

The two punk cuts are good, but the other songs are fantastic. I love the writing, vocals, and guitar work. The wailing vocals on 'To Lose You' are amazing. That's easily the best song here.

This is a really solid EP. Whether the tracks are heavy and in your face or more laid back and vocal-focused, they all sound really good. I really wish this project was longer, and that's usually a sign that an EP is really good.

Favorite tracks: Control, Pigs Is Pigs, Darling

My first thoughts are: Damn this is some hard hitting indie although the opening song is mid.

‘Perfect’ has blistering 90s punk fire and ‘To Lose You’ is melodically rising and poppy. ‘Pigs Is Pigs’ gets a massive nod from me for it’s Turnstile swagger.

A short and sweet EP.

If you wanted a return to the loud and rambunctious sound of Mannequin Pussy's first two albums then look no further than their 2021 EP Perfect to help with your fix. This EP feels like a bunch of B-sides because of how janky and thrown together it all is. I have no problem with any of these songs but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think these were very strange tracks to be putting together on a project without anything to really tie them together or make it more cohesive. It's short and ... read more

I love this EP. All the songs are great! I just want to see the band really push their sound to the limit and I feel this band could have made this album a lot bigger feeling. I'm really excited to see what this band releases in the future.
