I have a problem when it comes to writing reviews. I am a very experience oriented person. I can only describe a moment, but only if it impacts me. So when I hear another album that just comes and goes, and slides off my ears. I don't know what to say. That's why my reviews only really appear on albums with high scores or low scores. Because I at least know what to say in those situations. But, I really want to improve as a writer.

Beautifully composed. From the way this record approaches temporality in melody to the nature of Stewart's poetic, neo-Romantic lyricism, "Year of the Cat" continues to be my absolute favorite pop rock/prog. pop album of all time. I've been an Al Stewart fan since I was a kid and his soothing yet painfully melancholic and meta-nostalgic performances on here continue to hold to me.
