Beats Per Minute

It’s also one of the most cohesive and powerful records to come around in a long time, and it doesn’t tire after multiple spins.

Paste

Lost in the Trees rethink of the music of grief and catharsis, turning this album into a loving and lively wake without neglecting either the precariousness of life or the horrors of death.

80
Under The Radar

The tracks on A Church are beatifically mournful, its orchestrations minor key, and its vocals sung by an author distinctly heavy of heart.

80
PopMatters

It is a hopeful reminder that pop music has the power and relevance to comment on ultimate things in a meaningful way.

70
Consequence of Sound

The outcome is an expansive collection of thematically and musically complex songs that serves as a beautiful dedication to the musician’s mother, whose photo graces the album’s cover.

A very theatrical and sometimes delusional work from the american folk band, that sometimes manage to show dexterity on poetical lyricism and some beautiful subtle passages, which end up being the band's best moments on the album. The occasionally unorthodox instrumentals sound good and compelling when they show up, leaving the listener mesmerized, if only for a minute.

Emotional, heart-breaking and melancholy.
Truly, a worthy tribute.

This is one of the most incredibly beautiful albums I've listened to. A tribute to the life and death of the artist's dead mother.
