The vocalists were deliberately chosen for their lack of connection to Malian music, and it results in a distinct yet divergent collection that balances the traditional sounds of the kora with outside perspectives.

A very pleasant start to the week. Malian kora player Ballaké Sissoko gives a lesson in musical elegance.
a heavenly experience

this royal piece of work by Ballaké Sissoko is mesmerizing. I feel I have been transferred to a different dimension after listening to it. truly blessing.

favourite track: kora, dijourou
Listening to this was an experience, and if I'm being totally honest, it was a great one. The different sounds throughout this album was brilliant. And the vocals on the tracks helped to enhance that. The guitar was super heavenly, and my god it was a total surreal experience. What I would wish to hear this release again. Djourou did a spectacular job. Amazing!!!
