What an unexpected move from the Mael brothers to collaborate with Giorgio Moroder and conduct their operatic high-energy to heaven, without reaching the number one, but who cares.

Sparks team up with Giorgio Moroder to deliver an innovative and rapturously produced album. Sparks pull from a lot of influences here, including disco, glam, psych rock and the still nascent style of synthpop to deliver some catchy, dancey and pretty mind-blowing tracks. The songwriting is occasionally repetetive and the vocals can be a bit much, but there's no doubt as to how prescient this album was of what the 80s would become.
