As much as I enjoyed the bands visceral debut record, this new foray into electronica fails to hit in any substantial way, leaving me underwhelmed overall. :/
"Sorry" art punk band is going in a new direction, a little more electronic. Without a doubt this EP is interesting, but it doesn't quite convince me.
You know how much I love sorry. This ep shows a little more electronics and experimentation for the band compared to their debut lp last year.
I really enjoyed their debut, but this just isn't really doing anything for me.
Cigarette Packet is actually great and possibly one of their best songs to date, but that's justified by the fact that it is the one song on this EP that carries the new electronic sounds with the actual feel of a Sorry track. The other 4 don't have that same feeling. I don't dislike this new direction and I think it's great for them to experiment and try new things, but the other 4 tracks are just not a good combination of that with what makes their sound so enjoyable.
