One of the most exciting UK artists making music right now? You’d be hard pressed to argue otherwise.

The Line of Best Fit

An album that is truly magical, Man Made is a stand-out debut.

90
DIY
An impressively accomplished, ever-giving record that rarely fails to enchant.

Beats Per Minute

Although this is an album about oneness, we are here for Peng, and these moments where we feel closest to her as a person are some of the most rewarding.

80
Mojo
Soul-funk psychedelicist's debut is a dubbed-out early-summer treat.
80
Dork
As her moniker alludes, Greentea Peng’s highly anticipated debut album is an 18-track opus that doesn’t just heal the mind and soothe the soul, but expands it too
80
The Arts Desk
Like her maverick precursors, there are potential pitfalls along the way, but with a sound and style as fully, brilliantly developed as this, you can only hope she avoids them.
80
The Skinny
Greentea Peng’s debut album captures a central paradox from the past year: the compulsion to turn inward, and the need to look outward.
80
NME

The rising star's distinctive aura and voice makes for a one-of-a-kind debut album.

80
Clash
Aligning herself to one of the greats, Greentea Peng seems to implicitly suggest that such gravitas should be afforded to her own artistry – with such evident excellence as this, it’s only right that she be granted the dignity her art sorely deserves.
80
The Forty-Five
The London psych-soul queen debuts in style, with an eighteen-track album that never unravels.
60
The Observer
Hip-hop, jazz and righteous reggae blend elegantly in the singer-songwriter’s message-driven debut album.

Man Made suffers from too much material, not enough editorial oversight, and not nearly enough inspired composition.

FAVORITE TRACK: Suffer

LEAST FAVORITE TRACK: Meditation

I have never heard of Greentea Peng before this but this album cover entrances me and I needed to hear it.

This album is looooong. It's 18 songs and an hour. My biggest complaint for this is in the length because there's so much content, that it gets hard to seperatr songs. If I didn't take notes on this, I wouldn't be able to differentiate a lot of these tracks. But besides that, MAN MADE is a really well made Neo-soul album. Greentea ... read more

This album definitely has some good tracks and it sounds very nice, but there is just too many tracks and you can tell she just simply didn't have enough ideas to fill an 18 track album but she did it anyways. The second half is a bit boring. Cut shorter I think I would've liked this much more.

Favorite tracks: Make Noise, This Sound, Free My People, Nah It Ain't The Same, Earnest, Kali V2, Dingaling, Jimtastic Blues
Least favorite: Mataji Freestyle
