Singer-songwriter Cautious Clay gives us a bird-eyes view of the calamities of life in debut ‘Deadpan Love’; an album as perfect for summer weather as it is for broodier storms.

Despite being repetitive at times, it's a good debut album, and I'm looking forward to how he develops as an artist in the future.

I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did, especially cause Karma & Friends, Agreeable and Dying in the Subtlety were such great singles. But the thing is: Cautious Clay is a good artist, but his music on the long run tends to become more and more predictable. It's a shame cause sometimes the ideas bang, but other times they fall flat. cautious clay’s majestical vocals on top of crisp horns and fun beats- this is a perfect summer album!! its a reminder how big of a blessing cautious clay is to the electronic/r&b scene.
