I'd all but given up on Daniel Avery after Love + Light, a directionless double album that only seemed to squander its potential with weak songwriting. I have always wanted to be situated in a place where ambient and techno symbiotically exists. Daniel Avery made that possible for me. The melodies and sound design fits right into my feels and it was an instant click. My main character delusion is now even worse because of this.
This is the fourth album I've heard by Daniel Avery, and... it's not my least favourite, but it is the least interesting and most 'safe'. However, that doesn't mean it's bad. It's often dull monotone ambience and signature compressed overbearing drums creates a pleasant atmosphere that brought up images of thick fog which I really enjoyed.
