Beats Per Minute

My Head is an Animal is a highly impressive debut that’s full of emotional lyrics, lush, diverse instrumentation, and a powerful and dynamic male/female vocals.

My Head Is An Animal deserves the attention it is getting, because it is a well-crafted, spirited debut album with soaring choruses and delicious harmonies.

Even with a few skipable tracks, though, Of Monsters and Men bring an Icelandic exoticism and captivating energy to U.S. audiences on My Head is an Animal.

The thing that's most impressive about the album is that there's not even a trace of filler

I LOVED this album a few years ago, and honestly, it was my introduction to folk music...

That being said, it has not held up incredibly well... especially since I’ve been listening to a LOT of Fleet Foxes recently.

Gets boring over the years , but it still has some beautiful folk songs. We definitely are far from Fleet Foxes in quality, but it is easy to enjoy.

My Head Is an Animal is a very solid, upbeat debut. The excellent songwriting and male/female vocal arrangements are what mostly caught my attention. There are some really great songs on this album. More better than worse, that's for sure. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit.
