There is a reason this album receives all the praise it gets. Above all, it is an extremely accessible black-metal album (when focusing on the genre, only) with such a strong, overwhelming artistic vision that comes directly from Varg's unique aesthetical choices. Agalloch was more intense with acoustics than any second of this album. This gave me a headache...no really.

Edit: okay it grew on me....but Agalloch still >>>>>>
