While there's room for growth, the gamble on the album's versatility is worth it and pays off. The various influences he pulls from really showcases how multifaceted of an artist he is. Keem's The Melodic Blue is an impressive effort that proves his bag of tricks isn't running out anytime soon.
While The Melodic Blue may act as a blueprint as to how Keem can become a star, it doesn’t put him in that class. It’s a standard debut album, with plenty of flaws and high moments that flash greater potential but not much else.
The Melodic Blue is a vocally experimental trip through the cutting edge of modern rap music.
Keem is a necessary, forward-thinking presence in the rap zeitgeist -- but The Melodic Blue is a set of variables and experiments, not the game-changer he's capable of producing.
With its diverse production, high energy vibe and Keem’s more than competent lyrical abilities, The Melodic Blue shows the potential for Keem to drop something special in the future; it is just a matter of him ironing out the finer details.
Baby Keem clearly has it in him to produce great albums going forward, The Melodic Blue hopefully being a blueprint of sorts.

Damn that Kendrick Lamar guy should make an album, he'd pop off
Maybe only on occasion
Edit: I enjoyed this album fuck you
The Melodic Blue is like a recipe to potentially make a great feast but when you taste the final result you have this impression that some ingredient is missing or that the cooking is not necessarily mastered. If Baby Keem didn't succeed in crossing this step, there are still some satisfying points if not a really thrilling album experience...
