Cordae follows up The Lost Boy with an album that just feels like it lacks a direct focus besides him legacy rapping. The Cole comparison feels really fitting, as he doesn't really bother to explore anything new sonically, with most of the beats being pretty similar. He also just raps about the same thing each track, wanting to make it big and be the best in the game and that type of stuff. Everyone knows what he is capable of, and so this album isn't all that impressive especially when u look ... read more

This has been an anticipated album of mine for a while now given the potential shown on of Cordae's debut, The Lost Boy, furthermore on his Just Until EP. After dropping the YBN from his name it seemed like things could only go up for Cordae, but I can't help but feel that A Birds Eye View is a step back. Don't get me wrong, I still think this is a decent album certainly with its highlights, but I don't find him to be any more distinct here and while he can write some introspective lyrics and ... read more

This was a high quality release from Cordae! This is the first project I've heard from him so I can't compare it to his last album, but I really liked it. Honestly what's crazy to me is I think my least favorite thing about this album is the features. Cordae carries this thing really hard and his words really resonated with me. I liked the features from Weezy and Freddie Gibbs but besides that the rest of them didn't do much for me. I'm excited to see what Cordae does next! Man knows how to ... read more

I always thought that Cordae was a decent artist and his previous project, The Lost Boy is a perfect example of this. That album is a good one with a lot of substance in it, great features, nice beats and all that. This project feels like the last one, but worse in every aspect. There is a lot of fillers on here, which cannot be said about the last one. The features are mostly underwhelming and I would just rather listen to The Lost Boy.

Now, did I enjoy this one? Kinda, but not enough to ... read more

Starts off pretty strong but then crashes and burns the middle. Get's back up with the last two songs then commits suicide once Eminem starts rapping.

Damn, Naomi Osaka's boyfriend released an album?

On a serious note, "From A Bird's Eyes View" is a massive disappointment. Believe it or not, there was a time when Cordae was heralded as the figurehead for a new generation of conscious hip-hop, a generation that would bring a fresh & fun approach to a subgenre that had gone stale years ago. His debut, "The Lost Boy" didn't blow me out of the water but he certainly was living up to the hype by relasing some pretty ... read more

Although this album sounded a little uninspired and somewhat derivative at times, I like some aspects of it. I think his rapping has a nice flow and some beats are produced awesomely. However, I feel as if there's nothing that is really Cordae's in it, for it doesn't sound like he owns anything that is in there. Some feature are terrible too, specially Lil Wayne and Eminem.

This was my first time listening to a full album by Cordae and now I'm a Cordae fan. Probably because I like J. Cole so much. A lot of people criticize him for sounding so similar to Cole, but I don't think that's a bad thing if you can pull it off really well. There are some really good instrumentals on here with meaningful content. I'd like to see Cordae go farther and develop more of his own sound.

This album was a very surprising new side to Cordae. His rap-ability has improved and it is evident here. This great lyricism is flexed on tracks like ‘Sinister’ and ‘Jean-Michel.’ The tracks are produced very well too, but they can be a little bass-y in the mix sometimes.

This work is at its best when acordar gets insightful and personal, talking about things that are relevant to himself and the current landscape of popular hip-hop. Sometimes the content of the lyrics ... read more

From a Bird's Eye View is a fine LP, but I think it's suffering from an ongoing trend I'm really not a fan of. A young rapper will drop a slightly above average debut, only for it to be heralded as a modern classic and have the rapper behind it hyped up as one of the best in the game right now. Then, they'll drop a sophomore effort that's perfectly fine, but it's seen as a major disappointment because it didn't live up to the expectations the fans made themselves. Roddy Rich's LIVE LIFE FAST ... read more

This record is honestly confusing me a lot. A lot of different sounds to work with, and to be honest, I like it. Well, kinda.

Production is very solid and I personally think it can be very soothing like on C Carter, but then can be bumping like on Westlake High. Production gives this record more taste and is very good.

Lyrics can be corny at some points, but isn't that bad. Not the best and can definitely be worked on.

Features are good, excluding Gunna, and it never feel like the features ... read more

Though I anticipated a big performance from Cordae given that one of the songs included features from both Freddie Gibbs and Stevie Wonder, though I unfortunately did not receive much creativity. The main appeal of Cordae's debut, The Lost Boy, was its incredible versatility, as, similarly to Baby Keem's The Melodic Blue, Cordae tried out a wide variety of styles of rap, going from the rowdy, upbeat "RNP" ft. Anderson .Paak, to the chill "Bad Idea" ft. Chance the Rapper, to ... read more

Mid demais.
