Taking over of the whole production gives them the opportunity to watch what's left: their own decline.
Editors are looking at In Dream for a way through the synth-pop of the eighties and adding the influences from electronic music to it. The dreamlike atmospheres which the band creates aren't equally spread between the songs. Where the musicality sometimes effectively works towards the moment of discharge, other numbers remain too much on the surface of the music of the past. This might as well be a new band, that's how I approached this album, no real expectations and knowing it wouldn't sound like previous iterations. It's a culture shock, they've traded in their dark tones for a much more synth-based band despite their lead synth player leaving the band.

A better album by editors than the previous.It is a album that has more highs than lows best song: no harm
This is a rather average, somewhat boring rock album, but perhaps the one lone standout track is the opener, "No Harm". It's syrupy and existential. It does a great job outlining the rest of the album, and is easily one of the most beautiful songs ever penned by the Editors. However, don't expect any further favors beyond that.
