The droney, tape music passages/songs were gorgeously formeless. Love those moments on this album, but the songs that used piano felt like adding unnecessary structure to beautiful shapelessness and really took me out of the music. Feeling like it'll grow on me once I figure out why the piano is there.

"Violent Lives" is a wintry, melancholic ambient album, with a thick atmosphere, that sounds pretty, but it's not something you haven't listened before or really that memorable. It's an album that lacks any kind of personality and is just decent.
