Kingdom Of Rust is Doves' defining work, an album of bold adventure.

By expanding their repertoire, taking a few risks, and nailing those harmonies, they’ve made what feels like the first great British album of 2009.

Whatever way you look at ‘Kingdom Of Rust’ it’s a magnificent rock record, one which will delight the faithful and also surely see them pick up new devotees.

For my money their best album. Consistent and compelling throughout. Fantastic LP.

Nice alt rock album, I specially liked Kingdom of Rust and Compulsion.

This is a good album, but not great in my estimation. The first five songs had some memorable melodies, but the songs fell apart a bit for me on the backend, with the exception of the closer, "Lifelines." Also, the sliding into notes that one of the Williams brothers does throughout the album gets tiresome on the ears after awhile. His sliding into the word "sun" on Lifelines almost makes me not like the song, but it has a nice melody and build.
