He is trying everything he can to sound like his old self, the kid who blew up from SoundCloud. He never quite reaches that point, so the entire album is just so uncanny and unfunny. The natural charisma he is trying to channel is just gone, so he sounds like he is 40 years old pretending to be 16. I remind you, he is literally my age.

Chasing past glories aren't we?
Lil Pump is an artist I've never been the biggest fan of ever since his breakthrough in late 2017 with 'Gucci Gang'.
To me, that was a bad sign that this kind of Hip-Hop would become a trend to follow, and it did for a while.
Fast forward to 2023, and we get Lil Pump 2... a record that's nothing short of musical devolvement.

This album is hilariously bad. I mean, it starts with Theo Von proclaiming that his favorite type of weed was cocaine. I mean, based, but like why start with that? Other than that, there's a quotable bar on every song here, that are just mindblowingly stupid. Sure, this project is ass, but I like ass. That's especially true for Pump Rock x Heavy Metal which will potentially go down as my favorite song of the year and will definitely go down as the worst song of the year.

NO NUANCE REVIEW
I came into this record wanting to like it. Lil Pump’s been the face of bad pop trap and disposable SoundCloud rappers for nearly a decade while not even being the worst of either. Lil Pump is one of the easiest of the easiest of targets, and I’d argue there’s far more deserving. I genuinely wanted to meet him where he was at and give credit where it was due and not needlessly dogpile on a guy who has already been dogpiled out of relevancy.

Little Pimp actually managed to top YB with the worst album of 2023 by a longshot.

lil pump’s old music felt effortlessly dumb and kinda fun, this album feels like he’s trying as hard as he can to be a silly billy and because of that it doesn’t really work

Every time Lil Pump releases something new, I see people saying that he's just trying to revitalize the success he once had. Well, I disagree with that, because if it's true, then it would imply that, whenever he's tired of trying to relive that success, he would have the capacity, the ability and the talent to move on to something new and refreshing. Lil Pump 2 has a couple of interesting styles that can be used well, but lil pump doesn't sound great or understands what happens on these tracks. The chaos of this album is entertaining but this begins being boring when the track I Don't Mind comes with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, after this track album starts going downhill. I never expect Lil Pump to do great, and this surely kept that streak alive. Considering the best song features Smokepurpp, what else do you need to know about this record? Lil Pump returns with a pretty decent return to form. I went through the journey most have gone through in their life where they start as a Pump hater, then become a Pump fan and eventually forgot about Pump for a while. While obvs not great or impressive it's a big return to form for Pump. There are some good songs here, sometimes really good. The lowest point is the Heavy Metal song but I still didn't hate it
