As a middle finger to the label, the album version of Ridin’ Dirty is the glossiest version of a Screw tape ever imagined; a muggy and rich malaise of soul and everyman narratives.

If UGK doesn't really have something new to say, at least they have come up with an engaging way to say it -- the sound of their record is vibrant and direct, bringing you right into the thick of things. It's not exceptional gangsta rap, but it is entertaining.

Thanks to my man @Rollo_P for recommending me this

I had heard several UGK songs before this, so I’ve been familiar with their sound for quite a while. I’ve liked a lot of UGK songs that I heard before I heard this album, and I had even heard One Day and Diamonds & Wood before listening to this thing (which those songs are both on the album)

I went into this album expecting the usual UGK type sound that I had heard multiple times before this album, and that is exactly what ... read more

This is a certified classic. I have always loved the UGK feature on Hova's "Big Pimpin" and this album was about as good as that feature. I love the melodic qualities of many of the tracks. It is a great southern hip hop album with the duo carrying it's runtime.

10/13. Fav Tracks: One Day; Pinky Ring; Diamonds & Wood; That's Why I Carry; Hi Life

My senior year of high school was all virtual (early covid era) so naturally I had a lot of time where I just wasn't doing anything. I remember I found this album and I was blown away by it, it's great. Every verse from Bun B and Pimp C are incredibly entertaining and neither one is a dull voice on this record.

This stuff is good. Best song is One Day.
