Even if "Solar Power" might be Lorde's happiest song to date, the track isn't as vibrant as the name suggests. And that's exactly why it's perfect.
I don't understand this at all honestly. regardless of my opinion on the song it's such an odd choice for a lead single. And honestly it's so boringggg. I could see this being an intro song the full album, starting off slow and lowkey before getting bigger and being a grand intro, but the softer parts are so generic and plain despite their potential, and the more energetic part doesn't go big enough? I guess they didn't want to go big but I feel like that would've been a great way to return and ... read more

Lorde’s return single isn’t her best song or anything, and I definitely don’t expect it to blow people away like her best tracks have, but it’s still a great summer song and an unexpected but nice change of pace that I can see myself playing a lot.
