I don't understand this at all honestly. regardless of my opinion on the song it's such an odd choice for a lead single. And honestly it's so boringggg. I could see this being an intro song the full album, starting off slow and lowkey before getting bigger and being a grand intro, but the softer parts are so generic and plain despite their potential, and the more energetic part doesn't go big enough? Lorde’s return single isn’t her best song or anything, and I definitely don’t expect it to blow people away like her best tracks have, but it’s still a great summer song and an unexpected but nice change of pace that I can see myself playing a lot.
