55 = MEDIOCRE --> Not bad, not good, forgettable.

A Few Stars Apart is well-produced and pleasant on the ears, but unfortunately as a whole, it's rather bland and boring.

There are times where the band veer into other territory, almost like pop rock, which would actually be cool. It gets these Toy Story soundtrack vibes and with enough piano, it could easily be mistaken for sounding like that, which I would say is a good thing. But when it goes back to country, all the tropes return and the hope is lost. In the end, I would set this album as a good bar for country artists to strive for, knowing all of them will probably fail.
