Sling is a proof of maturity for Clairo, it is also a delicious adventure to be consumed without moderation. This new album delivers an almost impeccable instrumentation, where the singer puts her angelic voice and her writing in ideal conditions.

Clairo Cottrill is the kind of Singer-Songwriter/Musician artist in the air of time who illustrates herself perfectly by her journey as admirable as fascinating. The singer with the soft, tender voice, know
n for her dreamy instrumentation is the ... read more

A stripped back, stunningly serene, astonishingly powerful project like Clairo’s sophomore effort, “Sling” is something to not skip over and to take note of as it surprisingly enough became one of my favorite projects of the year.

If you were to be asked about an artist that has been overlooked as a “industry plant” or mediocre artist, you may think of a lot of other singer-songwriters from entertainment over the years, but the artist that comes to my mind ... read more

What a beautiful album.

This is my first time listening to a Clairo project, and while I do think this is really good on first listen, I definitely need more time to sit with it because I know this is the kinda album that will definitely grow on me with each listen. The songwriting is great though, and so is the production from Jack Antonoff. Will definitely edit this with more thoughts soon.

water the industry plant with good production but you only reap what you sow and the water flows along it's course while the plant withers away and then the fact that the plant is a fruit of the indsustry alone is a reason to not give it the necessary water to grow even though it's packaged in an accessible package for mainstream market consumers however a plant is a plant and the fact that clairo is a plant trying to act human itself is a sign of the waning quality in the music industry and I ... read more

...wow.

Clairo has finally come out with her 2nd album, Sling. Now, I am a huge Clairo stan. Ever since I first heard Immunity, it’s been an album I’ve had a huge connection with. It’s one of the few albums me and my friends both love, and many songs from it are some of my favorites of all time (Bags, Sinking, etc). And so with this new album, I had pretty high expectations, especially since the single, Blouse, seemed to point the album in a more folk-pop direction. And I am ... read more

'Sling' is Clairo's second studio album, a well-known singer in the indie-pop music world who has now changed her musical path to a project more focused on a contemporary folk sound. This is my first experience with the singer's work! The only song I've heard from her is the lead single 'Blouse', a song that enchanted me in every possible way (literally it's one of my most played songs in recent times) and intrigued me to how the album would be developed and let's say the result was extremely ... read more

while i definitely prefer the more energetic, guitar, slightly more electronic “immunity”, “sling” is a nice mature and cohesive folk project! i’m not in love with it, as i find it a little lethargic and not all that memorable, but the highlights here are still nice!

From the very first note of Clairo's second LP "Sling", you can already tell that it very much represents a new chapter in the book of the Atlanta singer-songwriter. With Jack Antonoff on production, accentuating every single emotion in the instrumentally focused tracklist, Clairo sets out to craft her most intimate and personal experience yet with this record, and she does so with pretty great avail. Over this album's forty-four minute runtime, Clairo offers an introspective on her ... read more

WOW, now that's what I call a sophisticated folk album. Indie superstar Clairo is delivering a masterpiece as her sophomore album and I wish I could say I'm completely shocked because I'm not, I've always liked her and I've always known she's the shit. Going towards a completely but not so far way from her previous album, this time around 'Sling' brings to the table something straight-forward and very emotional. Not only the singer improved her lyrics immensily she also produced this whole ass ... read more

Claire Elizabeth Cottrill (born August 18, 1998), better known by her stage name Clairo, is an American singer-songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia.

while arguably nothing incredible or innovative, i still thoroughly enjoyed this album. it’s just really nice and comforting. clairo has a beautiful voice and the laid back instrumentals really help show that. honestly i don’t really have that much to say about this album. it’s just some really beautiful and calming indie folk. i don’t actively dislike any of the songs on her. the worst songs on this are the ones that just sound too much like the others. side note: being ... read more

I've been listening to Clairo since Flaming Hot Cheetos came out in 2017. I’ve been able to see her steady growth as an artist during these last couple of years. I was a big fan of her diary 001 EP but I felt like a lot of her style and uniqueness was lost on her debut album Immunity that was released in 2019.

Clairo’s output up until this point has been predominantly bedroom pop, but on Sling, Clairo has paired but with producer heavyweight, Jack Antonoff. Both Clairo and ... read more

Sling is a more mature album by Clairo, which should be expected, but like her predecessor and other releases, I still don't really feel too much towards the songs here and quite frankly - it gets a bit tedious in its predictability & the addition of Jack Antonoff doesn't have the same impact that he's capable of recently - like on Folklore & Evermore.

At least for now, Claire Cottril, better known as just Clairo, on her second studio album, 'Sling', seems to be letting go of her characteristic pop/indie pop beedrom, and clinging to a sound never before seen from the singer more, equally, perfectly and accurately, the folk. Focusing more on what you herself have to say with her songs than what her instrumental skills had to offer from the comfort of home, which, without a shadow of a doubt, was one of the best things she’s ever done ... read more
