After Lou Barlow’s departure from the group, Green Mind is the first sign of J Mascis taking control of the band and pushing it into a direction that he found desirable. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing with a few standout tracks on this record but most of it could have benefited from Barlow’s influence. That being said, it feels less line Dinosaur Jr. and more like a J Mascis solo project.
