Under The Radar

Bergsman uses the idea of Hawaii—palm trees, sepia-tinted photos of beach sunsets, the gentle rhythms of the ocean—to provide a pervading mood of calm.

Staying on just this side of a Corona beer commercial, it sounds like a continuation of Bergsman's realizations carried over from East of Eden, in that a change in latitude brings about a change in attitude.

Consequence of Sound

It’s an altogether beautiful experience, if not a game-changing one, and clearly one to adopt a comfortably horizontal position to as you reach for the Hawaiian Tropic.

Other Worlds is such a radiantly warm, luxuriously luminous heatwave of a record it can give you a suntan just listening to it.

Beats Per Minute

While it sounds like her own personal sound world and collection of memories, the album lacks that relatable hook to draw the listener in.

The 405

Taken By Trees have once again managed to capture the essence of a country within an album to great effect, this time taking us to Hawaii and back within forty-five minutes.

Other Worlds is a pleasant, but modest experience and while an effort has been made to stamp every track with distinctive hints the end result is an interesting but arguably undemanding disc.

Other Worlds is an immersive, expansive listen, filled with warm electro-dub grooves and plenty of ear-tickling headphone details—but it can also be a snooze.

☆☆☆ ~ Great and respectable work. Even though the whole project doesn't manages the virtuosity and versatility as a majestic album effectively does, the overall feeling was succesfully positive on me.
