Considering Industrial Metal is one of the subgenres of metal that I am the fondest of, I was a little disappointed with what seems to Fear Factory's most celebrated record. Even tho they check all the boxes to make a by the books decent industrial metal album, Fear Factory just doesn't seem to provide the artistic integrity, creativity, and uniqueness that some of their counterparts like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, and Godflesh were providing at the same point in time.
Very good
I can’t really make an argument for anyone needing more than an album length’s worth of music from Fear Factory.

So if you want all their robo bangers in the one place you’d need to cherry pick their ten best toons from across their discog - at least five of which would come from here.

Or, if you want it all to flow together, then you just pick up ‘Demanufacture’ and be done with it. It has the variety, it has the consistency.
Not as good as I thought it would be, but it's still an enjoyable listen nonetheless
Favorite tracks: Self Bias Resistor, Zero Signal, Body Hammer
Least favorite: Replica, Dog Day Sunrise
This is a REALLY personal take. Even if Fear Factory nailed their musical concept in the electronic groovey side of their capacity (that was sprinkled with even more groove in Obsolete), they also lost their grim edge the sound had in Soul of a New Machine. They perform mechanically heavier but, strangely, less abrasive.

It's a good album, nonetheless, and the most recognizable work in their discography.
