Metal Injection

Perhaps more than any of its predecessors, it seems like the culmination of everything that came before it, fluidly incorporating virtually all of the quintet’s past specialties into a thoroughly thrilling and rewarding new venture

In being so loyal to the structure of what’s come before, Colors II doesn’t reinvent progressive metal like its predecessor, but by all other metrics, it lives up to its lineage.

BTBAM prove they’re still as creatively uninhibited as they were when they first showed the world what they were truly capable of.

Exclaim!

Colors II can still be plenty respectable without reaching or surpassing Colors. It's certainly BTBAM's heaviest in a while, paying tribute to the BTBAM's watershed record without copy-pasting.

Readers will disagree. Fans will call out “blasphemy”, but Between The Buried and Me’s latest is so far up the wall (balls n’ all), it’s hard to make out exactly what part of the record you’re listening to. Everything and nothing sticks.

I'm in disbelief. They captured lightning in a bottle TWICE...

I'm a major fan of the original Colors, one of the handful of albums (That I've heard) I consider a 10/10, so I was very excited to listen to this yet nervous I would be disappointed after hearing some criticism about it, but I went into it open minded.
After a few listens over the past few weeks I've concluded that this follow up, once again is an absolute 10. They lived up to the hope and then some.

This sounds like a ... read more
