AllHipHop

It’s a lyrically strong album that is sure to spark conversations due to its content, and can easily draw in casual listeners due to the LP’s sound and presentation.

HipHopDX

Rap’s resident Judo master of juxtaposition sounds inspired again, dishing out shifting dichotomies through a scattering of deliveries without encroaching on petulance.

A.V. Club

Food And Liquor II feels more inspired than its predecessor from the start—not just in its florid production, a substantial improvement over Lasers’ big-box synths, but also in Fiasco’s rapping.

PopMatters

On its own, this is a fine collection of socially inquisitive rap music that would have probably even served as a competent swan song, had Fiasco actually decided to call it quits for good.

Pitchfork

Save for the usual nu-metal hard-rock vocalizing on many of the choruses, it is his most relaxed, rewarding effort in a while, and at its best, it feels like a re-introduction to a promising artist who spent some time in the wilderness.

Pretty Much Amazing

Most of the verses on this album are filled the relevant content, story telling, wordplay and deft flow that made Lupe famous, but annoying pop hooks and banal production flourishes mire the second half of the album

A dissapointing release from one of rap's most creative artists today. Lupe doesn't feel like he has much to say on here despite the dragged out run time.

Best Track: Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free)
Worst Track: Battle Scars

Underrated af. May be the most pretentious lupe has ever been but the majority of songs are great sonically

EDIT: was a 68, but while I was writing this he said:

"So when that pond thaws and it's no longer Gretzky"
"That's when we jet ski"
....

Lupe got bad when he stopped using braggadocio for the sake of some sort of rap savior complex. The topics here are generic and redundant at this point. And the production is kinda cringe too, still bearing the pop rap scars of Lazers. He's vying for Drake levels of publicity with a quarter of the production talent behind him. ITAL ... read more

Strip away Lupe’s flawless lyricism skills and I would have no problem going in on bashing every aspect of this album.

Best tracks: “Strange Fruition;” “Around My Way;” “Lamborghini Angels”
Worst tracks: “Bad B*tch;” “Heart Donor;” “Battle Scars” (holy overdramatized)
