'Mt. Pleasant' is slick, interesting and very dynamic. Cosha's debut album is full of identity and self-believe, from the beautifully designed cover to the smart modern production, everything about this project feels original. I felt the tracks complementing each other, as the time goes by you listening and suddenly you're completely invested and immersed, it can have a very chill/dreamy vibe, just as any R&B album but with some kind of special touch you can't quite figure it out what it is.
At first glance, you might expect something of Kelela or FKA twigs' caliber but that's when you missed your mark. Cosha offers a different kind of sensibility where she is her own sound and you have no choice but to take it as it is. Her much more soulful and sultrier vocal delivery is a definite soothing sensation to your flesh. With that being said though, I wanted more and more of it. Intriguing, pleasant and enjoyable. It's full of smooth and sensual vocals mixed with groovy and dreamy beats. Loved the contributions from Shygirl, Mura Masa and Rostam Batmanglij (two excellent producers)
